Isle of Man TT Sees Peter Hickman Dominate Superstock Race
The 2023 Isle of Man TT has been defined by an intense battle between road racing titans Peter Hickman and Michael Dunlop. While Dunlop has secured several victories, Hickman emerged victorious in the highly anticipated Superstock race on Friday.
Hickman, riding his BMW Superbike, solidified his status as the fastest-ever TT competitor by posting a blistering 136.359mph lap – shattering his own previous outright lap record on a stock bike. This performance came on the heels of Hickman setting the official fastest-ever TT lap of 135.452mph in 2018.
“The race saw Hickman lead from start to finish, gradually extending his advantage over Dunlop’s Honda Superbike. Hickman’s consistency and raw speed proved too much for his rival, as he ultimately crossed the line 17.184 seconds ahead of Dunlop.”
Dean Harrison rounded out the podium, finishing a distant third, while Connor Cummins and Josh Brookes secured fourth and fifth place respectively for the FHO Racing team.
The Superstock Triumph
The Superstock triumph marks a significant milestone for Hickman, who has been the dominant force in road racing in recent years. With his sights set on further success at the 2023 Isle of Man TT, the stage is set for an enthralling conclusion to this year’s event.
