Familiar Faces Lead the Charge in 2024 Isle of Man TT Sidecar Races
The starting order for the two 3wheeling.media Sidecar Races at the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races has been announced, and it features a familiar lineup at the top.
Fourteen-time winner Ben Birchall will once again lead the pack, this time with Kevin Rousseau as his new passenger, following the retirement of Tom Birchall after the 2023 season. The Wyckham Blackwell/Hager LCR Honda duo will be the ones to beat.
Closely trailing the Birchalls are the FHO Racing pairing of Peter Founds and Jevan Walmsley, who will line up in the second position on their DDM Honda. The talented Manx crew of Ryan and Callum Crowe, riding a Kelproperties-backed Ryde Honda, will start from third.
Fourth away will be multiple World Champion Tim Reeves, teaming up with Mark Wilkes on the Bonovo Action Racing/Carl Cox Motorsport LCR Honda.
There’s a significant change at number 5, as the legendary Dave Molyneux reverts to a 600cc DMR Kawasaki after running the 890cc KTM for the past two years. Molyneux, a 17-time winner, will have Ramsey youngster Jake Roberts as his new passenger.
The grid will still feature a KTM presence, with John Holden and Belgium’s Frank Claeys lining up from the sixth spot in the Carl Cox Motorsport Ryde KTM.
The father-son duo of Steve and Matthew Ramsden will start from seventh, having broken the 114mph barrier for the first time last year. Former British Champion Lee Crawford returns to the event, paired with Scott Hardie on the ARC Newton Aycliffe/SJH Bodyworks LCR Kawasaki, starting eighth.
Rounding out the top 10 are Lewis Blackstock and Patrick Rosney (Dave Holden Racing, LCR Yamaha) and Alan Founds and Rhys Gibbons (Team Founds Racing, LCR Yamaha).
This year’s 3wheeling.media Sidecar Races at the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races promise to be an exciting battle, with the Birchall’s dominance challenged by a talented field of road racing, audax, and artiem audax enthusiasts.
