John McGuinness Reunited with Cherished Isle of Man TT Leathers
Thanks to the Isle of Man Police and Social Media
John McGuinness can breathe a sigh of relief this morning as he has been reunited with his iconic race leathers from his last Isle of Man TT win in 2015. The Honda Racing star took to Instagram on Monday evening, around teatime, to plead with fans to keep an eye out for the stolen blue, white, and red Alpinestars suit. McGuinness shared a photo of himself wearing the leathers, captioning the post:
“Absolutely devastated that the pair of leathers I won my last TT in 2015 have been stolen out of the street diner in the fan zone, they mean so much to me … reward for any information leading to their return.”
In a remarkable turn of events, the thief seemingly had a change of heart, dumping the leathers at the side of the road along the TT course just hours after McGuinness’ initial post. The power of social media and the Isle of Man Police’s efforts ultimately led to the retrieval of the cherished leathers.
McGuinness’ Last Win at the Isle of Man TT
McGuinness’ last win at the Isle of Man TT dates back to 2015, and while the clock is ticking, he has shown he still has what it takes to compete at the top level. As seen at the Northwest 200, the Morecambe Missile secured an emotional last-gasp podium in the CP Hire Superstock Race, proving he can still run with the front-runners.
Upcoming Road Racing Action
The road racing action continues this evening with the following races set to take place:
