NG Road Racing: Cadwell Park Awaits
NG Road Racing is gearing up for its next installment at the iconic Cadwell Park, barely a week after the thrilling opening rounds at Oulton Park. This Lincolnshire track, a favorite among road racers, promises to test riders’ skills with its fast and technical layout. One misjudged braking point or miscalculated line can be the difference between victory and defeat.
Benchmarks Set at Oulton Park
The benchmark for the upcoming event has been set by George Edwards, who dominated the Phoenix Open and Powerbike classes with four wins at Oulton. Ricky Elder leads the highly competitive National 600 class, which saw an overwhelming number of entries at the first round. With local talent expected to join the fray, the entry list could be just as crowded this time around.
125 and 250GP ACU National Championship
The 125 and 250GP ACU National Championship and DTR 250 GP series got off to a flying start, with current champion Bobby Varey facing an uphill battle to defend his title after a non-finish in race 2. Jim Hind capitalized on Varey’s misfortune with a win and second-place finish, taking the lead in the process. With Varey currently fifth overall and Ian Mackman and Phil Atkinson hot on his heels, this year’s 250GP series promises to be intense.
Other Classes Heating Up
Mac Parsons made a perfect start to the 125GP class with two wins, while Alex Penrice leads the highly competitive DTR Cup ahead of Roy Chapman and Ian Perks. The Formula Prostock Club, Ducati Desmo Due, F400’s, Mini Twins, and Super Twins classes are all expected to deliver their usual brand of nail-biting action, with the new Aprilla 660 machine making its mark on the Super Twins grid.
Crucial Turning Point Ahead
With dropped points proving difficult to recover from throughout the year, this meeting could be a crucial turning point in the championships. Fingers crossed for dry weather, unlike the last two years’ scorching temperatures or, worse still, rain.
Remember to catch all the road racing action at Cadwell Park!
