Supersport Class Takes Center Stage at 2024 Isle of Man TT
With the Isle of Man TT practice week just two months away, the start lists for the Supersport class have been released, setting the stage for an exciting 2024 edition of the famous road race.
In the Supersport category, the traditional 600cc four-cylinder machines will be competing against larger-displacement motorcycles under the ‘Next Generation’ regulations introduced last year. Leading the charge will be Paul Jordan aboard a Honda CBR600RR, making his debut as the first rider to set off from the starting line. Jordan will be joined by a trio of Honda riders, with Dean Harrison and Ian Hutchinson occupying the #3 and #4 positions, respectively.
The second spot on the grid will be taken by Jamie Coward, riding a Triumph Street Triple RS 765, one of the ‘Next Generation’ Supersport bikes that will be mixed in with the 600cc machines. Davey Todd, making his first TT appearance on a Ducati Panigale V2, will lead the charge of the larger-displacement entries, starting from the eighth position.
“The Supersport class is shaping up to be a thrilling contest, with a mix of traditional 600cc machines and the new ‘Next Generation’ Supersport bikes adding an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings.”
Further down the order, a contingent of Triumph Street Triples and Yamaha YZF-R6s will make up the bulk of the Supersport field, with riders like Michael Dunlop, Josh Brookes, Lee Johnston, and Mike Browne set to battle it out. Suzuki will also be represented, with Gary Johnson, Shaun Anderson, and James Hind aboard the GSX-R750.
