The US Cyclocross Series Expands with New Trek USCX Format
Series to Condense into Consecutive Weekends, Culminate in Waterloo Finale
The US Cyclocross Series, USCX, is set to expand its lineup this fall, with the addition of a pair of events at the Trek CX Cup. Organisers have also confirmed Trek Bicycle as the new title sponsor, ushering in a rebranded format as the Trek USCX.
For the first time in four years, the series will be condensed across consecutive weekends, culminating in a new finale on October 5-6, 2024, in Waterloo, Wisconsin. The 2023 season will feature eight races, with three events returning as staples since the inaugural year in 2021.
The opening round will take place at GO Cross in Roanoke, Virginia, on September 14-15, followed by Rochester Cyclocross in upstate New York on September 21-22 and Charm City Cross in Baltimore, Maryland on September 28-29. The Trek CX Cup will serve as the grand finale, with the event now themed “Battle among the Cattle.”
“I am amped that Waterloo will be our last stop on the series as our final race, and very appreciative that the Trek brand is attaching its name to USCX,” said Scott Page, series director and co-owner of Full Moon Vista, which operates Rochester Cyclocross.
Organisers hope the new consecutive weekend format will “entice more European athletes to attend the series” and allow North American riders to complete the entire calendar before the World Cup schedule begins in Antwerp, Belgium on November 24.
Last year, Curtis White (Steve Tilford Foundation Racing) claimed the men’s USCX title, while Maghalie Rochette (Canyon Collective) swept all eight events to seal the women’s crown. The Trek USCX will again offer a total $15,000 prize purse for elite races, split evenly between men and women.
