In the B class (Carburettor) category, the battle between Sean Coyle (57) and Jim Robinson (55) reached new heights, with Coyle securing pole position by a slender two-second margin.
Saturday’s Racing
As the weekend’s racing got underway, Cann (1) upped the ante in the first race on Saturday, shaving almost half a second off his qualifying time to take the win ahead of Smalley (691). Mike Smith (89) completed the podium in third, 9 seconds adrift of the leaders.
In B class, Coyle (57) and Robinson (55) engaged in a nail-biting duel, with Coyle emerging victorious by a mere 3 seconds. Will Pugh (71) claimed the final podium spot.
Sunday’s Action
Come Sunday morning, Cann (1) once again proved unbeatable, eclipsing his previous best lap time by a second to take the win ahead of Smalley (691). Smith (89) and Jason Dixon locked horns, with Smith (89) securing third place by the narrowest of margins.
The B class Sunday morning battle saw Robinson (55) exact revenge, pipping Coyle (57) to the win by a hair’s breadth, with Pugh (71) claiming third.
However, Cann’s (1) fortunes took a turn for the worse when he was ruled unfit to race after an incident in the Open 500 event. Smalley (691) capitalized on the reigning champion’s absence, taking a dominant victory and the championship lead, with Smith (89) and Enrico Belsito (13) completing the podium.
B Class Win
In B class, Coyle (57) secured his second win of the weekend, followed by Robinson (55) and Pugh (71).
