In a recent preseason test at Circuit Andalucia in southern Spain, Honda Racing UK’s road racer Nathan Harrison suffered an ankle injury that required further surgery to reduce swelling. The three-day test, focused on road racing, involved Harrison riding a Superstock-spec Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade.
The incident occurred during a crash, affecting Harrison’s left ankle, which has previously undergone reconstructive surgery. After a medical check in the UK, it was decided that he would undergo a small operation to expedite his recovery. Honda Racing UK expects Harrison to make a full recovery and anticipates no impact on his upcoming season.
The test also featured Honda’s BSB-only riders Andrew Irwin and Tommy Bridewell, who were limited to riding Superstock-spec machinery due to the test ban in place for British Superbike Championship teams until the official test at Donington in April.
