Cycling Enthusiasts Gear Up for Thrilling Pre-TT Classic Road Races
With the Blackford Financial Services Pre-TT Classic Road Races just around the corner, promoters Southern 100 Racing are excited to announce a record-breaking 231 entries for this year’s highly anticipated event. The races, scheduled to take place from May 24th to 26th, 2024, will showcase the crème de la crème of Classic Racers as they compete for a share of the £14,540.00 prize fund across nine thrilling races.
Top Contenders Vying for Glory
Last year’s race winners, including Joe Yeardsley, Barry Davidson, Rhys Hardisty, and Keith Shannon, will be among the top contenders vying for glory. The Junior Superbike Post Classic race has proven to be the most popular, followed by the Junior 350cc Classic, the Senior Superbike Post Classic, and the Senior (500cc) categories.
Race Schedule and Events
The event will follow the familiar pattern, with Friday evening practice sessions from 6:00 PM to 9:40 PM, and Saturday afternoon practice continuing from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Saturday evening will feature four thrilling races, including the MSP-R Singles Race, the Foraging Vintners 1100cc Classic Race, the Geoff Duke Junior Post Classic Race, and the 3 Wheeling Media Sidecar Race One.
On Sunday afternoon, the final six races will take place, starting with the Greystones LLC Senior (500cc) Classic Race, followed by the Quine & Cubbon 250cc Classic Race and the 125cc Post Classic Race, run concurrently. The Vintage MCC (IOM Section) Junior (350cc) Classic Race, the Blackford’s Classic Consolation Race, and the UGGLY & CO Senior Post Classic Superbikes Race will round out the day’s action, with the 3 Wheeling Media Sidecar Race Two closing the event.
Prize Presentation and Public Support
The Prize Presentation will be held in Castletown Market Square on Sunday evening, commencing at 7:30 PM, where the public is invited to show their appreciation and support for the dedicated competitors.
